About This Game

This is the sequel to The Fruit of Grisaia. It is strongly recommended to play the first game before starting this.

“Are things OK as they are?”
In every second of every minute of the life the young man had lived, the same thought recurred in his mind.
Looking back on his past, the girls he’d met in this peaceful life made him feel guilty, and his heart was tormented with that guilt.

—That girl discovered the meaning of her birth
She no longer needed to hide her true self--
—Understanding what it means to struggle to live
From the protected to to the protector --
—To feel so, so glad to be alive.

Since the young man started meddling in young women’s affairs, their gray orchard began to recover its former brilliance.
“It is impossible to capture eternity.
But surely, I can at least spend the rest of my life with your hand in mine, never letting go.”

That was the one decision one young man kept in his heart… a09c17d780

I dont recommend this games because it's too pricey compared to the lenght of the main story. I have finished it in 12 hours without skipping at all. Yeah you might enjoy the "After" stories but the main story interests me mostly. Thus this is not unrated version means adult stuff and even jokes or anything adult related is removed. Wait for the unrated version if you want something good.. For me, "Labyrinth" is the undisputed highlight of the Grisaia trilogy. Whilst others may (fairly) criticize it for its perceived lack of content when compared to its predecessor, I personally feel it offers a much more consistent experience, which is, in part, due to the shorter game length.

It's also in (no small) part due to the main arcs focus on some of the more interesting characters & relationships, especally Yuuji, JB, & Asako. Also, unlike "Fruit", all five of the side stories in Grisasia are pretty enjoyable, but in return, none of them are particularly special, either - They're just low\/low reward slide of life fillers, which works for me, as I believe both "Fruit" & "Eden" have serious issues when it comes to getting the most out of their emotional plot ideas...

The art is just as consistent as the first game, but the OST doesn't feel anywhere near fresh enough, seeing how most of it is taken straight from "Fruit". The opening\/ending songs, however, are very good indeed. Technically, the game still has one of the most frustratingly useless auto modes known to man, but at least this one has cloud saving.

I guess whether or not you'll prefer this game to the titles it's sandwiched between will come down to preference, but if you, like myself, found Yuuji & JB more interesting than all of the sidekicks, & want to learn a little bit about what got them to where they are today, then the main arc of Labyrinth is definitely worth 10-15 hours of your time.. Labyrinth of Grisaia is the second game in the series, and completing the original is most definitely a requirement before starting this one. The setup is a little different here, with the game split into essentially three sections.

First comes the epilogues of all the good endings from the first game- these are quite enjoyable and give a good deal of closure to those scenarios. Next up is the main route, Cocoon of Caprice, which tells the painful story of Yuuji's youth and past in the form of flashbacks, along with reactions from characters in the present time learning the information. Finally there is a series of amusing short stories set in all different time periods and being just for fun.

There are no major changes from the original game, and it's a very smooth continuation. This is a shorter entry and there are no dialogue options this time around, you simply choose your scenario from the main menu. Be warned that this ends on a cliffhanger for the final game in the trilogy, Eden of Grisaia.

It may not have all the magic of the original but if you enjoyed Fruit of Grisaia, this is basically required reading. Enjoy.. There are two sections of the game.

1) The individual routes for the girls are there for your enjoyment. They tie back to Fruit of Grisaia (the first game). The routes for the girls do NOT tie to the main story line of the game, which will be continued in Eden of Grisaia.

2) The protagonist male's route (Cocoon of Caprice) is the main story. This is the story that will be continued on in Eden of Grisaia. It is VERY dark, but it is seriously awesome. I couldn't put it down.

Do yourself a favor and buy Eden of Grisaia when you buy Labyrinth of Grisaia. Then plan on playing the individual routes of the girls unil you are ready to read the Cocoon of Caprice (in Labyrinth of Grisaia) and Eden of Grisaia over a long weekend. Once you start reading the Cocoon of Caprice, you will not want to put the story down until you have finished reading Eden of Grisaia.. Although it isn't as good as the previous one "The Fruit of Grisaia" , The Labyrinth of Grisaia offer a sequel to all 5 girls routes with an addiction to a main route whereby taken place around Yuuji himself and his past.

I would say if you are interested on continuing the stories with the girls and knowing more about Yuuji, pick this one out. Else, just leave it be.

It maintains the high quality animations and sounds that the previous games offered, nonetheless the story for the sequels lacks of the "umpps" that makes the previous game great. It is a little bit too short compared to the it's predecessor, however it is still heck of a fun to read!. A beautiful continuation in the world of Grisaia.

The afterstories provide a nice throwback to The Fruit of Grisaia with generally fluffy slice-of-life stories. They allow us to revisit the cast and refamiliarise ourselves with their personalities. The afterstories clock in at roughly 2h a piece, which feels like a good length for that bit of extra time we want to spend with our chosen girls.

The most interesting part, of course, is the Grand Route. Or really, the first half of it. The second half is provided by The Eden of Grisaia. The timeline of Labyrinth is split of from Fruit sometime in July, and we and the Mihama Academy girls get to know more about Yuuji's past, how he became a part of the "company" and how his life with his "master" Asako was. The story is a delicate mix of comedic slice-of-life, intense action and dramatic tragedies. The real tragedy here is the brutal cliffhanger ending though. Eden can't come out fast enough.

Last but not least, we have the non-canon side stories of varying length and general comedic value, showing us some extra tidbits about various characters and their personalities.

The total reading time for the afterstories and the Grand Route amounted to roughly 25h for me (and I count myself as a rather quick reader). Multiple reviews mention that Labyrinth is "too short for the price", but I don't believe that at all. It may seem short in comparison to The Fruit of Grisaia, with its 40h+ reading time, but I'd rather say that Fruit was underpriced instead of saying Labyrinth is overpriced. Licencing the game and voices isn't cheap and a ton of work went into the translation. In my opinion, it is well worth its price.. A really good, but dark Visual Novel that is definitely not for someone who is looking for something more tame. If you thought the anime was dark, the Visual Novel itself gets into a lot more of the in-depth details which makes the game extremely developed, especially in terms of character progression, but can also be a challenge to play through, for casual players such as myself. Still Recommend it, because it is a really good Visual Novel regardless, but do take breaks while playing the game.. If you played the Fruit of Grisaia and liked it, there's no way you should miss out on this sequel. And if you haven't played the first game, go experience that before this one, even if you think you might understand the characters and plot from the anime or other means.

This game is much, much shorter than the first, and I'll admit I went into it expecting a long, epic experience. What I got was a short sequel to each of the 5 main girls' routes, a whole bunch of short vignettes (side stories), and the main arc of the game, which made the whole thing worthwhile.

I played the 5 character routes and main story in the order they were presented in the menu, which had me playing through each girl's sequel before delving into the meat of the game. The 5 character stories were nice enough, and gave me a chance to spend a little more time with each girl, but the developments and revelations contained within were nowhere near on the level of the first game. In fact, many of the situations in these stories just felt like setups for fanservicey adult scenes, which are not even included in this Steam version of the game. At the end of these, I kind of felt like there hadn't been much point in them without the adult content, and this is coming from someone who does not enjoy that kind of content at all.

Thankfully, the "grand arc" is on the same quality level as the first game, and delves into Yuuji's past in the ways that anyone who played the first game was probably hoping for. We know enough about Yuuji from the first game that not everything is a shock or a surprise, but there are plenty of new surprises to discover. It was awesome to see how all the things that were hinted at in the first game really played out, and the experience really paints some of the scenes from the first game in a new light. The ending will leave you wanting more, since it's one of those "really sudden cliffhanger ending" games, but fortunately the third game is already out on Steam and ready for you to enjoy (and it does continue right from the end of this game, with no pointless filler)!

The little side stories were also amusing and gave me a chance to spend even more time with the lovable girls of Grisaia. I probably enjoyed them more than the actual character routes, though playing them after the cliffhanger main arc was kind of weird! They might be better enjoyed first, since they have no relevant plot points.. After actual years of waiting the english translation of Labyrinth is finally here!

The length doesn't nearly approach The Fruit of Grisaia but if you're a die hard Grisaia fan like I am that shouldn't matter to you. I'm just exceedingly happy to get more time to explore the stories of the captivatingly charming cast that is Yumiko, Amane, Makina, Sachi, and Michiru.

... and now the wait for Eden of Grisaia begins. so much content has been changed from the original that its upsetting. if you are looking for an all ages game then i'd recomend it however if your looking for ORIGINAL content then wait for the release of the 18+ version. I bought the game off J-List and Steam, and am patiently waiting for the english patch. Trust me. the content is DEFINATELY different. I can speak decent Japanese just cant write it lol. the all ages version gets a 5.5 out of 10 from me. if they did leave the dirty jokes then maybe I'd have given it an 8 but there you have it. all in all I do not recomend this version for true die hard 18+ fans but for all you younger fans knock yourselves out.
